LADWP Customers Eligible for Attic Insulation Rebate Program

LADWP Customers Eligible for Attic Insulation Rebate Program
March 25, 2026
Did you know that adding attic insulation is one of the most effective ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency? With record-setting high temperatures this March, the High Sierra Energy Foundation (HSEF) is encouraging LADWP residential customers and property owners to take advantage of LADWP’s new Attic Insulation Rebate Program.
The program applies to batt and roll insulation only, and the rebate amounts are as follows:
- R-19 insulation is eligible for a rebate of $0.30 per square foot
- Above R-19 insulation is eligible for a rebate of $0.50 per square foot
A limited-time launch special of the program provides an additional $0.25 per square foot for projects installed between September 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026, bringing rebate amounts up to 55 cents and 75 cents, respectively. For example, a customer with a 1,500 square foot attic could receive up to a $1,125 rebate.
The Attic Insulation Rebate Program is especially valuable for Owens Valley residents served by LADWP, because the extreme temperature swings affect heating and cooling costs. In the summer, attic insulation will prevent hot air from seeping in through the attic, and in the winter, it will prevent heated air from leaking out. Both air conditioning and heating costs will decrease because the appliances won’t have to run as much, saving on electricity use and your utility bill.
Prepare for the summer heat by insulating your attic today and earn a rebate while you’re at it! Learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply for the rebate by visiting http://www.ladwp.com/attic.
