In Memoriam: Jacqueline J. “Jackie Jo” Rife-Beck
Jacqueline J. “Jackie Jo” Rife-Beck, age 90, of Lancaster, formerly of Bishop, passed away June 8, 2022, in Lancaster. Born in Bell, Calif on Sept 4, 1931, Jackie Jo moved to Bishop with her parents in 1946 where her parents managed the Sprouse Reitz store until 1949. Jackie Jo worked at the store after school and on Saturdays. After marrying in 1949 she became a stay-at-home wife and mother.
Jackie Jo lived in Bishop for 69 years before moving to Lancaster to live with her daughter. While living in Bishop she spent many years involved in various clubs, Bishop Women’s Improvement Club, Den Mother for Boy Scouts, Servicemen Mothers Club, Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary, Lady Bills, Bishop Senior Center where she ran Saturday night Bingo for many years.
Survivors include daughter Deborah (Gary), Lancaster; sons John (Karla), Billings, MT; Dan (Marva), Rancho Cordova; and Timothy (Marilyn), Longview, WA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, JoAnn (Duane), Lynette (Austin), Christopher (Summer), Brandy (Jarrett), Jennifer & Steven; 16 great grandchildren, Ezra, Shanda (Joe), Taylor, Madalynn (US Army), Matthew (US Navy), Destiny, Gabriel, Hayden, Jesse, Rebecca, Paul, Joseph, Piper, Bryce and Ronald; and 4 great grandchildren, Westley, Jonathan, William & Wyatt. Preceded in death by her parents Colonel and Elviner “Tony” Ice, sister Diane R. Cook, husbands Lloyd E. Rife Jr. and William Scott Beck, & great granddaughter Lauren K. Rife Stephenson.
Graveside services will be held on June 21, 2022, 10:00am at East Line Street Cemetery, Bishop.
