High Sierra Energy Foundation Partners with LADWP to Promote Holiday Energy Savings in the Owens Valley
The High Sierra Energy Foundation (HSEF) is partnering with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to bring energy efficiency outreach and education to communities throughout the Owens Valley. Since 2018, the HSEF has worked alongside LADWP to support programs that help customers and businesses in the Eastern Sierra save energy.
This holiday season, the HSEF and LADWP are sharing simple energy-saving tips to help make the season comfortable, cheerful, and efficient.
Tips to Save Energy During the Holidays
- When company’s coming over, lower the thermostat — all those extra people help keep us cozy!
- Cook efficiently with small appliances like slow cookers, toaster ovens, or air fryers instead of your full-size oven.
- Decorating? Choose LED holiday lights and set timers to save overnight.
- Keep the chill out by sealing drafts and closing your fireplace damper once the fire’s out.
- Customers can also visit ladwp.com/save for rebates and offers on smart thermostats, insulation, and other energy-saving upgrades.
The HSEF and LADWP hope these small steps will make it easier to stay comfortable and save energy this season. “We’re excited to partner with LADWP again this year and we hope to help families enjoy the holidays while also helping reduce their energy use,” said Pam Close Bold, Executive Director of the High Sierra Energy Foundation.
Here’s to a wonderful holiday season ahead!
