MLPD Chiefs Advisory Committee is Building Community
Recognizing the importance of community collaboration to truly serve the people of Mammoth Lakes, the Mammoth Lakes Police Department (MLPD) established the Chiefs Advisory Committee earlier this year. The purpose of the Chiefs Advisory Committee is to strengthen clear lines of communication between the MLPD and the entire community by creating a structured and intentional forum for dialogue. By doing so, MLPD hopes to build stronger partnerships between the department and the community to share concerns, address the formation of strategies and concepts around community policing, increase public awareness of the Department and ultimately, reduce crime and improve safety for all community members. The Committee held its first meeting on December 11 with 14 of the 15 committee members present, including the Chief of Police Dan Casabian and Sergeant Jason Heilman.
