Mammoth Lakes’ Newest Gem – Mammoth Mercantile

Mammoth Mercantile, which just opened its doors this month in Mammoth Lakes, is a modern-day general store filled with heart, history, and handmade charm. It’s a one-stop shop for artisanal groceries, cozy gifts, and community connection — and it’s already becoming a must-visit for travelers looking for that “hidden gem” mountain-town experience. The store showcases unique California-made goods and there is nothing like it in town.

Founders Teissia and Sarah Keith  have an incredible “meet cute.” During a casual chat, they realized they’d once lived in the same Los Angeles apartment—just not at the same time. Years later, in Mammoth Lakes, they met and bonded over a shared dream: to create a shop that felt like home. Teissia built a global event planning company before trading travel for mountain life. Sarah left Hollywood for culinary school, became a private chef and caterer, raised two kids, and launched a ceramics brand supporting cancer organizations. Both women’s personal journeys—Sarah’s breast cancer survival and Teissia’s experience with infertility—shaped their belief in mindful living. From that philosophy came Mammoth Mercantile: a place for clean products, organic foods, and ethically sourced goods people can trust.

Now, that dream has become Mammoth Mercantile — part general store, part gathering space, and entirely heart.
