Three NIHD Board of Directors’ seats up for November election

Are you passionate about healthcare and community service? Northern Inyo Healthcare District (NIHD) invites dedicated individuals to make a difference by running for its Board of Directors in the upcoming November 5, 2024 election. This is your chance to influence the future of healthcare in our community and ensure that NIHD continues to provide quality services to Inyo County and beyond.

This election will determine representatives for three of the five zones within the District. The candidate-filing period runs through Friday, August 9. The open seats are:

  • Zone 1, for a four-year term, serving the Rovana, Mustang Mesa, Bishop Creek, Aspendell, Starlight, Rocking K, and portions of the West Bishop area;
  • Zone 3, for a two-year term, serving most of the downtown Bishop area; and,
  • Zone 4, for a four-year term, serving the portions of the Bishop Paiute Reservation and the South Barlow, Schober, Sunland, and southwest Downtown Bishop area.

To be eligible, candidates must reside and be registered voters within the zone they wish to represent.

Ensuring transparent and fair governance, the Northern Inyo Healthcare District Board of Directors (BOD) plays a crucial role in representing the community and guiding the District towards a healthy future. The NIHD BOD is composed of five elected members, each representing one of the five distinct zones within the District. These zones ensure that the Board’s representation is geographically distributed and reflective of the communities it serves.
