November 3, 2026, General Election Key Dates 

  • Inyo County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar Danielle M. Sexton provides the following important dates for the  November 3, 2026 General Election:
  • 09/19/26: Deadline for ballots to be mailed to Military & Overseas voters (UOCAVA & MOVE Act).
  • 09/24/26: Local Voter Information Guides will be mailed to voters who have not opted to receive them  digitally. Guides include voting information, ballot samples, and local candidate statements. A separate  State Voter Information Guide will be mailed for statewide contests. Voters who opt out of the mailed  guide will receive an emailed link to the digital version earlier. To go paperless, please visit:  https://elections.inyocounty.us/voting/voter-information-guide-form/.
  • 10/05/26: Ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters, as required by Election Code § 3000.5.  Verify your voter registration and mailing address at https://VoterStatus.sos.ca.gov/.
  • 10/10/26: Perform Pre-Logical & Accuracy Testing on all election equipment.
  • 10/19/26: Last day to register to vote to receive a mailed ballot. After this date, voters may still register  and vote provisionally in person on Election Day in the county where they reside.
  • 10/27/26: Deadline to request a replacement ballot if your original was lost or damaged.
  • 10/29/26: Ballots received by this date will be included in the first results released at 8 p.m. on Election  Day.
  • 11/03/26 – Election Day: In-person voting locations will be open from 7 a.m.–8 p.m. Your voting location  may have changed. Refer to the stub attached to your mailed ballot, or visit:  https://elections.inyocounty.us/voting/voting-locations/.
  • 11/10/26: Mailed ballots postmarked on or before Election Day must be received by this date to be  counted.
  • 11/12/26: Hand Tally Audit (tentative).
  • 11/25/26: Signature Cure Deadline (EC § 3019). Voters who returned their ballot on time but did not sign  the envelope or whose signature did not match must return the signature verification form by this date for  their ballot to be accepted.
  • 11/25/26: Target date to certify local election results. Certification may occur earlier if there are no  outstanding mailed ballots with signature issues to be cured. 
  • 12/11/26: Official State Election Results will be certified by the Secretary of State. Inyo County Elections encourages all voters to verify their voter registration status at  https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/. Registration forms are available at the Inyo County Elections Office, local Post  Offices and Libraries, or online at https://RegisterToVote.ca.gov/.
