The San Francisco Bay Area has a coastal flood advisory for minor coastal flooding today during high tide. The King Tides, the highest astronomical tides of the year, are cause for this flooding. Flooding is expected to impact low-lying lots, parks, and roads along the shoreline. Beachgoers should be familiar with times and heights of local tides and be aware of rapidly changing water levels.

Snowfall and much colder temperatures will specifically impact the areas of Surprise Valley, Lassen, Eastern Plumas, Eastern Sierra Counties, Greater Lake Tahoe, Mono County, Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties, Greater Reno, Carson City, Minden, Western Nevada Basin and Range, and Northern Washoe County. Travel disruptions are extremely likely, especially on Thursday. If you are traveling, make sure to keep tabs on the state of the roads on your route and to be prepared for winter conditions.
