Martha L. Blain passed away on March 22

BlainMartha L. Blain passed away on March 22, 2022 at  the age of 80, a resident of Bishop ca. She was born on April 6, 1941 in Creston Iowa to Russel and Catherine Flynn. She had two siblings Maryanne Toland & Richard Flynn. Martha ,“Marty” grew up, graduated high school and got a degree from Des Moines college. In 1958, at age 17, she Married her husband Larry Blain, and the couple then headed west to California, in Larry’s 1956 Chevrolet.  There, they raised their two children, Michelle and Mark Blain. Martha was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She and her husband then in 1995 started their own
company “Hawkeye” a well known construction business in Bishop ca. Martha was the C.E.O and secretary for the company that did very well and highly respected in the community until they shut it down in 2012.  The happy couple were married for 60 years in which they had built a beautiful home
together & enjoyed collecting classic cars and going to out of town cars shows. Martha is survived by her son Mark Blain, grandchildren Jade Shedd,  Breanne Blain, William “Tyler” Blain, great grandchildren Colt Shedd, Remington Shedd, Mason Blain Nava, and expected to arrive in a couple more weeks Baby boy Owen Blain Nava. Martha was preceded in death by her parents Russel and Catherine Flynn, her daughter Michelle “Shelly” Blain, and husband Larry Blain.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 1, 2022 at Our Lady of perpetual help Catholic Church in Bishop with Father John Gracey officiating. Following afterwards to the cemetery on E. Line st.  for the final farewells
