100 Women Who Care Eastern Sierra Awards $10,500 to AkaMya Culture Group

Bishop, Calif. — September 2026 — 100 Women Who Care Eastern Sierra (100 WWCES) is proud to announce a collective donation of $10,500 to AkaMya Culture Group, selected by members as the recipient of the organization’s most recent quarterly giving cycle.

At each quarterly meeting, members nominate local nonprofit organizations and hear presentations about their work and impact. Members then vote, and the selected organization receives the group’s collective donations for that quarter.

“Presenting a local organization with more than $10,000 in collective donations is a wonderful reminder of why we created 100 Women Who Care Eastern Sierra,” said Darlene Schuetz, Founding Chair of 100 Women Who Care Eastern Sierra. “Individually, our gifts may feel modest, but when we bring them together, we can make a meaningful investment in organizations doing important work right here in our communities. We are thrilled to support AkaMya and look forward to seeing the impact of this gift.”

The $10,500 donation represents the combined generosity of 100 Women Who Care Eastern Sierra members, who commit to giving each quarter to the nonprofit selected by the group.

100 Women Who Care Eastern Sierra is a volunteer-led giving circle created around a simple idea: bring women together, learn more about the nonprofits serving the Eastern Sierra, and combine individual donations to make a greater impact. In addition to providing financial support, the quarterly meetings introduce members to organizations and programs they may not otherwise know about, helping build stronger connections between local nonprofits and the community.

The group recently gathered with AkaMya Culture Group to celebrate the donation and learn more about the organization and its work.
