For all of your sweethearts out there

“The three grant essentials of happiness are: Something to do. Someone to love. Something to hope for.” –Alexander Chalmers

Eastern California—”Live happy,” says shopping center developer Dan Khatchaturian, who manages the Bishop Plaza’s properties. He recently took some time to talk about the newest developments and information about the upcoming openings of several new businesses in the Bishop Plaza. And, in a nod to Valentine’s Day, he’s got some exciting things going on at the Plaza…for all of your sweethearts out there.

For All of Your Sweethearts Out There

In about a year (2026), says Khatchaturian, there’s going to be a new Marshalls’ store in town. Yes! The well-known American chain of department stores is just what the eastern California region needed, after doing without for years, when Kmart closed. Khatchaturian explains that after the building undergoes extensive renovations, the store will feature clothing, bath, home décor, footwear, toys, beauty, and gift wares. “We’re very happy that Marshalls is coming to Bishop Plaza to improve upon and fill the void left behind by the departure of Rite Aid,” notes Khatchaturian. Next Valentine’s Day promises to be a much different setting at the Bishop Plaza, and there’s surely going to be an enormous amount of excitement.

Hats Off!

Keeping everyone fit and healthy is the goal of Paradox Fitness (open since last February just celebrated its one-year anniversary) and Emma Romo, owner / operator, of the popular fitness business is open 24/7, with controlled access entry after-hours for members. Khatchaturian adds, “the opening of the state-of-the-art Paradox Fitness Gym provides our youth a healthy outlet” and the fitness center is visited by all walks of life including many first responders, firefighters and law enforcement officials.

Seeing Delightful Doubles in Bishop

The Bishop Plaza is home to 16 businesses, six national brands, nine regional brands, and six regional brands, with two or more stores. So, keeping with this tradition at the Plaza, Looney Bean Bishop will open its 2nd location on March 1st, and they’ll be situated between PALS and the Verizon Wireless providing for opportunities to pair up coffee with shopping for Mexican food items at Las Coras Market, or Great Basin Bakery’s Outlet store. Verizon is another newer business, locally owned, with a presence in Mammoth Lakes and Bishop (times 2). Joining the doubles in Bishop are Salsa’s Taqueria, Gojira’s Ramen and Sushi, Tailwagger’s Pet Store, and Great Basin Bakery.

“Bishop Plaza is 100 percent leased, with a waiting list,” notes Khatchaturian. Hearts, souls, and tails are all excited and wagging away. Treat your sweethearts, one and all, to something special, and isn’t it nice to have something to hope for, too!?
