Town Council Meeting Action Items – June 21
- In a Public Hearing, Town Council approved the FY2023-24 Master Fee Schedule Update and approved the Appropriations Limit, Investment Policy, and Annual Town Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-24.
- Town Council approved an Agreement between the Town and Mammoth Lakes Tourism for Marketing and Related Services.
- Town Council approved the Agreement to allow the levy and collection by Mono County of Solid Waste Parcel Fees in the Town of Mammoth Lakes for FY2023-24.
- Town Council approved interim funding to the Whitebark Institute for Implementation of Phase I of the Eastern Sierra Climate and Communities Resilience Project (ESCCRP) in an amount up to $500,0000.
- Town Council authorized a professional services agreement with Keyser Marston Associates Inc. for Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge Redevelopment financial advisory services.
- Town Council approved the Memorandum of Understanding between the Town of Mammoth Lakes and the Mammoth Lakes General Employees’ Association (“GEA”), the Mammoth Lakes Management Employees’ Association (“MEA”), and the Mammoth Lakes Public Works Employees’ Association (“PWEA”) which shall be in effect from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2026.
- Town Council adopted a Resolution establishing positions, salaries, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment for specified employees in at-will, non-represented positions for fiscal years 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 and approved the Ninth Amended Employment Agreement with Town Manager, Daniel C. Holler.

2023 Defensible Space & Community Clean-Up Event June 23/24
- The Town in partnership with Mammoth Disposal, Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and Volunteer Eastern Sierra (VES), has scheduled a Defensible Space and Community Clean-Up event starting TODAY, Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.
- Bags to be used to collect trash are available from the Town Yard (299 Commerce Drive) and the Town Offices, located in the Minaret Village Mall.
- Drop by Footloose Sports or Eagle Lodge on Saturday, June 24 between 9:00am – 12:00pm to collect complimentary orange trash bags, a community clean-up map, and recycling information.
- All trash must be dropped off for FREE on June 23 & 24 at the Town Yard, located at 299 Commerce Drive between 8:00am and 3:30pm. Follow the signs on Commerce Drive to the Drop-off location. The Drop-off location is NOT at Mammoth Disposal.
MLPD Hosting Hispanic Outreach Public Forum
- The Mammoth Lakes Police Department will be hosting a Hispanic Outreach Public Forum on Friday, June 23, at the Mammoth High School Library, beginning at 6:00pm.
- This forum aims to foster open dialogue and build stronger connections between our police department and the Hispanic community in Mammoth Lakes. We believe in the importance of inclusivity and creating a safe and supportive environment for all members of our community. The Hispanic Outreach Public Forum is an opportunity for us to listen, learn, and address any concerns, questions, or suggestions you may have. We encourage all community members, especially those from the Hispanic community, to attend this forum.

Town to Host 2023 Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at Crowley Lake
- The Town of Mammoth Lakes in partnership with Crowley Lake Fish Camp is proud to present the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at Crowley Lake on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
- The Independence Day fireworks show promises to be a bright and striking display of color in the Eastern Sierra night sky. This year’s custom designed “Sky Concert” will propel over 859 shells into the Eastern Sierra sky for a mesmerizing 17 minutes beginning at approximately 9:00 p.m. (weather permitting). The show will simulcast live on KMMT 106.5 – tune in and enjoy!
- The Town would like to acknowledge L.D.C. for their generous donation of this generational community event.
- Admission to the Fourth of July Fireworks Show is $30.00 per vehicle (excludes camping), and $5.00 for walk-ins (children 12 & under are free). Celebrate Independence Day with live music before the spectacular fireworks show on the lawn from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. compliments of the “Felt Cutouts” with food and drinks available from the Pelican Grill.
