Crime Alert: Felony Vandalism Arrest near Horseshoe Lake

At 8:40 pm on August 3, 2026, Mammoth Lakes Police officers were dispatched to the area of Horseshoe Lake for a report of an alleged vandalism in progress.
Upon arrival, officers contacted a male and female subject in the parking lot; both subjects were from Los Angeles. A check of the area revealed significant spray paint or “tagging” damage to a historic cabin.
Following an investigation by responding officers, the two subjects were booked into the Mono County Jail under charges of felony vandalism.
All defendants in criminal cases are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
