Town Council Meeting Items for September 3, 2025

Staff Presentation: Flock Safety Update.
Policy items: (1) Comprehensive Town-wide planning effort and Parks and Recreation Master Planning Process Update, (2) Approve the Town of Mammoth Lakes Fiscal Year 2025/26 Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and; (3) Town of Mammoth Lakes priorities for the Fiscal Year 2025/26 Inyo National Forest Program of Work.

Summer may be slowly fading, but adventure still awaits in Mammoth Lakes. This holiday weekend, please recreate responsibly and remember that we are still deep in wildfire season.

Universal Fast DC Electric Vehicle Chargers Coming to Mammoth Lakes

The installation of eight new EV chargers by Electrify America began this week at the public Hillside parking lot near the Westin Monache Resort. Once complete, these chargers will be available for public use via the Electrify America app.

RECREATION ADVISORY – Danger Advisory Issued at Crowley Lake Due to Harmful Algal Bloom

The Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) is urging visitors to stay out of the water at Crowley Lake after tests confirmed the presence of harmful algal blooms. LADWP is working directly with the Regional Board and has posted signs with a recreational advisory of “Danger” have been posted at the Marina and Hilton Creek Drainage.

Golden Mussels & Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Update

Two  Watercraft Inspection and Decontamination (WID) Stations will be open this weekend from 7:00am to 5:00pm at the Mono Basin Visitor Center (Lee Vining) and Diaz Lake (just south of Lone Pine) to help prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) to eastern sierra waters. All watercraft should stop at a WID station BEFORE launching this weekend.

Beat the heat at the Whitmore Pool now open through Labor Day weekend. Lap swim ends September 5!

Protecting McLeod Lake at 9,000 Feet!

From September 15-19, Clean Up The Lake is taking on one of their most unique cleanups yet: McLeod Lake. Whether you can give a few hours or a full day, your help will make a real difference in protecting McLeod Lake.
