4th of July Parade Floats
The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Parade float entry is now open! Make sure you take advantage of this opportunity to promote your business or organization to thousands of parade spectators. The parade will take place Monday, July 4 and registration is open through June 20. Pricing is: $55 for non-Chamber participants, $40 for Chamber members and $20 for non-profits.

4 Job Killer Bills Stopped, 1 Tax Bill Stalled
California Chamber of Commerce policy advocates working alongside advocates from allied business groups succeeded in stopping four CalChamber-job killer bills from advancing in the Legislature this year. One of these job killer bills has been gutted and amended, and will now propose tax credits for clean energy.

ServSafe Alcohol
The ServSafe Alcohol course has been approved by the California ABC to meet state training requirements (CA Assembly Bill 1221) that will begin July 1st, 2022. This course is designed to educate food service employees on how alcohol influences behavior, identifies signs of intoxication, outlines legal issues that may arise in an alcohol-related incident and teaches ways to prevent over-serving.

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans Available to California Small Businesses
The Small Business Administration offers disaster assistance in the form of low interest loans to businesses, nonprofit organizations, homeowners, and renters located in regions affected by declared disasters. SBA also provides eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations with working capital to help overcome the economic injury of a declared disaster.

Required California Retirement Savings Plan
Beginning June 30, 2022 all California employers with at least five California employees are required to offer their California employees a retirement savings plan, either from the private market or by registering to participate in the new CalSavers program.
There are a few Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce members that can assist businesses with setting up a private plan for their employees.

California Dream Fund
The $35 million California Dream Fund Program will provide micro grants up to $10,000 to seed entrepreneurship and small business creation in California. Areas of focus will be child care, service and cottage food, green technology, retail and manufacturing. California Rebuilding Fund Loan Program
The California Rebuilding Fund is a loan program to support California’s small businesses—especially those located in economically disadvantaged and historically under-banked areas of the state. Businesses who employed 50 or less full-time equivalent employees and had gross revenues of less than $5 million or below in 2019 are eligible to apply. The loans are flexible, transparent and are designed to help businesses access the capital and advisory services they need to get through these challenging economic times.
