FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Inyo County Probation Department Announces New Grant Opportunities  to Support AtPromise Youth

Inyo County, CA — March 4, 2026 — The Inyo County Probation Department, in partnership with the  Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (JJCC), is pleased to announce the release of a Request for  Proposals (RFP) offering new grant opportunities aimed at expanding community‑based services for  at‑promise youth during Fiscal Years 2026–2027.

The initiative advances Inyo County’s continued commitment to reducing juvenile crime and truancy  by investing in prevention‑focused, evidence‑informed programming that strengthens youth resiliency,  promotes positive development, and enhances long‑term wellbeing.

Funding Available

The JJCC has allocated $150,000 to support up to seven community providers through two grant  types:

  • Two multi‑year grants of $25,000 per year for two years (totaling $50,000 each)
  • Five one‑year grants of $10,000 each

Eligible Applicants

Eligible organizations include:

  • Nonprofit organizations
  • For‑profit entities
  • Government agencies

All funded programs must align with the JJCC’s prevention focus areas, including:

  • Preparing youth for the future
  • Fostering positive relationships and connections
  • Strengthening coping skills and responsible decision‑making

Background

The JJCC – a multi‑agency body including representatives from health and human services, law  enforcement, the judiciary, education, and community organizations – administers funds annually  from Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA) funding, supplemented by additional growth‑fund  resources. These funds support a continuum of prevention and early‑intervention strategies designed  to reduce delinquency among at‑promise youth.

Recent updates to the County’s 2025–2026 Multi‑Agency Juvenile Justice Plan include:

  • Expanded outreach to southern Inyo communities
  • Extended‑day programming at the alternative school
  • Development of a centralized online hub for youth services and events
  • Continued support for the 211 hotline

The newly announced grants will help implement remaining prevention‑focused strategies identified in  this plan.

Call for Proposals

Through this RFP, the Inyo County Probation Department and the JJCC seek to partner with  community‑based providers capable of delivering impactful, measurable programming that  strengthens protective factors for youth and contributes to safer, healthier communities across Inyo  County.
