Eastern Sierra NOW News: October 10th, 2025
Today on Eastern Sierra NOW News, we’re talking all things local — from wildfire resilience efforts in the Mono Basin and Inyo County community updates, to fall color safety reminders, a new Caltrans traffic advisory, and some big news out of Death Valley.
The Furnace Creek Visitor Center has officially reopened — thanks to the Death Valley Natural History Association’s $10,000 donation to keep it running. Plus, Inyo Associates are gathering in Lone Pine, residents in Independence are helping test internet speeds, and Caltrans is updating travelers on key road work across the Eastern Sierra. Oh, and if you’re heading out to enjoy the fall colors — we’ve got some friendly reminders on parking etiquette (because no one wants their scenic drive to turn into a tow job).
