CELEBRATE WORLD TOURISM DAY

To celebrate the upcoming World Tourism Day on September 27th, we’re excited to share that Mammoth Lakes is in the spotlight on an episode of the Travel Beyond podcast by Destination Think. Mammoth Lakes Tourism President & CEO John Urdi joins host David Archer to talk about what wildfire resilience means for Mammoth Lakes and why protecting the area is a top priority. In this episode, you’ll hear about the “Mammoth Donut Project” an initiative funded in part through visitor dollars and how it’s helping us safeguard this incredible place for generations to come. A big thank you to the Destination Think team for helping us share our story with travelers who care about the places they visit.

The unbelievable beauty of Mammoth Lakes is just a flight away. Trust us, you’ll want dibs on the window seat. Sierra views from cruising altitude are unreal.

RESPONSIBLE RECREATION

Everyone has a role to play in maintaining this picturesque destination. Clean Up The Lake (CUTL) is back in Mammoth Lakes September 15th – 19th. This year they are heading to McLeod Lake for a high-alpine cleanup and research mission, where the team will remove litter and fishing debris, monitor for aquatic invasive species (AIS), and test for potential algal blooms. They’re looking for passionate volunteers to help restore this scenic Sierra lake. If you’re up for a challenge, CUTL especially needs those willing to hike up the trail and haul gear to the site!
