Introduction to Energy Code

Location: Via Zoom

This course provides an overview of the California Energy Code, Title 24 Part 6, including the historic context, organization, resources and overall goals for this current code cycle.

Serving as an optional refresher for code officials, architects and builders who will be participating in 2025 energy code classes
or
as an introduction for those entering the building industry.

This course will provide a strong foundation for design, permitting and compliance.

What is the Central California Rural Regional Energy Network?

The CCR REN was created to offer programs and services to households, businesses, schools, and public agencies throughout 14 counties in Central California.

What organizations are involved in CCR REN?

The CCR REN is administered by the County of San Luis Obispo, and its partners include the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments, the High Sierra Energy Foundation, the San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization, and the County of Ventura (advisory role).

What is the goal of the Codes and Standards program?

The goal of the Codes and Standards program is to help local jurisdictions and building professionals better understand and implement California’s Energy Code to improve compliance and support energy-efficient construction.
