Winter Storm Warning for Mammoth Lakes in Effect From Wednesday Morning Through Thursday Night

A cold and impactful winter storm will bring widespread heavy snowfall to the Eastern Sierra, with strong gusty winds and snow showers to lower elevations Wednesday through Thursday. Additional storms are likely for Friday, as well as the end of the weekend and into the start of next week.

US National Weather Service Reno Nevada has posted a Winter Storm Warning for Mammoth Lakes in effect from 5am, Wednesday (3/12) through 11pm, Thursday (3/13).

Heavy snow is forecast with up to 1-3 feet along the Sierra Crest and approximately 12-18 inches in the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Winds could gust as high as 80 mph over the ridges.

Planned Road/Park Closures:
Davison Road – will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the storm.
Scenic Loop – closed for the duration of the storm.
Community Dog Park will remains closed.
Whitmore Recreation Area will be closed for the duration of the storm and until parks staff can evaluate the park for public use.
