The Real Snow Report – Mammoth Mountain Snow on Oct 8
Posted by THE MAMMOTH BRAND on
It was rainy all night in Mammoth Lakes and around 8am this morning it switched to snow. At one point it appeared to be mid-winter with big fat flakes of snow coming down, see photo above. At the time of this post the snow was still coming down in Mammoth Lakes, although it is starting to switch to more of a wintery mix. In town we are looking at about 1-2 inches of snow. On Mammoth Mountain I estimate they could get 6″ at the top.
It is nice to see winter come a little early, but unless we get a couple more cold storms in Oct, which is possible, this snow will melt away long before ski season hits. Nonetheless, we need the precipitation and it’s nice to get an early visit from Old Man Winter.
Make sure you check in with The Mammoth Brand’s local blog for The Real Snow Report; an unbiased, and unofficial, Mammoth Mountain snow report. We plan to report on Thursdays and Sundays during the ski season.
Stay tuned for further Real snow reports.
