Storm System Incoming for the Eastern Sierra

The National Weather Service has announced a potent storm system will move into the Eastern Sierra over the weekend, bringing in precipitation to the region up to 2 inches. The heaviest precipitation is expected between Saturday morning through early Sunday morning. A Flood Watch has been issued for Inyo County.
- High winds are expected.
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
- Inyo County Road Closures are available.
- Excessive runoff may result in the swelling of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
- Flooding may occur in poor drainage areas, storm drains and ditches may be clogged with debris and leaves.
- Local volunteer fire departments have sandbags available, please connect with Inyo County Office of Emergency Management.

What to do during a Power Outage? Be prepared:
- Report outages by calling 1-800-992-8331 (Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and (833) 325-2397 after hours.
- Subscribe to Inyo County’s new Genasys Protect™ enhanced alert system at ready.inyocounty.us.
- Remember that our first priority is safety. Our crews and first responders must ensure conditions are safe before beginning any power restoration work.
- Stay Informed: Listen to radio and television, including NOAA Weather Radio if possible, and check trusted internet and social media sources.
