How did the restaurant at Convict Lake come to be established, and what inspired its concept?
The Restaurant at Convict Lake was established in early 1950’s as one of the first fine dining restaurants in the area. The lounge was added in 1972. With a French flavor, the menu as remained the same with little alterations since its inception.
What are some of the signature dishes or specialties that guests can enjoy at the restaurant?
Beef Wellington
Rack of Lamb
Homemade pasta
Table side Flambéed bananas foster
Extensive wine options and delicious martinis
Not to mention gourmet pizza in the bar April to October!
Can you describe the dining experience at the restaurant, including the ambiance and setting?
The Restaurant at Convict Lake is a casual dining experience with elegant atmosphere and excellent customer service.
What role does the restaurant play in enhancing the overall visitor experience at Convict Lake?
The Restaurant at Convict Lake is one of the finest restaurants in the Eastern Sierra. The restaurant provides a premier dining experience for not only resort guests but all visitors. Even though the restaurant is located just a short 9-mile drive from the town Mammoth Lakes, once here, it gives visitors the sense of seclusion with a mountain scenery surrounded by Aspen trees.
Can you please tell us a little more about what Convict Lake Resort has to offer?
Convict Lake Resort offers 28 luxury cabins rentals with full kitchens, bathrooms and BBQ grills! Select cabins have steam showers, indoor jetted tubs and outdoor hot tubs. Our cabins vary in size from a 2 person up to a 32 person! We also have marina rentals such as pontoons sized 20ft to 25ft, 16ft V-hulls, paddle boards and kayaks. Rock Creek Pack Station offers 2 hours scenic horseback rides along Convict Lake
