NIHD Board will test morning meeting time

The Northern Inyo Healthcare District Board of Directors will try a morning schedule for its regular monthly meetings for six months. This is a trial, and not a permanent change.

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 16, regular Board meetings will begin at 10 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. The day and location will remain the same; only the start time will change. If needed, closed session will begin at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will open to the public at 10 a.m.

The Board hopes the new schedule will help meetings run more smoothly. It may also make it easier for District leaders, staff members, guest speakers and experts to attend and share information. Their input helps the Board make informed decisions about District services, patient care, and future needs.

The Board understands that morning meetings may be harder for some community members to attend. After six months, the Board will review how the schedule worked and decide whether the morning meeting time should continue.

Public input will be an important part of that review. Community members are asked to share whether the change affects their ability to attend or take part. Feedback may be sent through the Board portal at the bottom of the contact page at NIH.org/contact-us.

Meeting dates, agendas, and details about how to take part will continue to be posted through NIHD’s usual public notice process. As always, this information is available on the District website at NIH.org/meetings.
