SnowSchool Volunteers Needed!

Want to Make a Difference in the Lives of Mono and Inyo County 5th Graders?

We’re still looking for a couple of more volunteers to help out with this year’s Eastern Sierra SnowSchool, an outdoor experiential learning program where we get our local kids out in the mountains and teach them about snow science and winter ecology.

As a volunteer, you will co-lead a group of 10-12 fifth-grade students and guide them through fun winter science activities. No experience is needed, training and curriculum are provided, and all you need is a love of playing in the snow and sharing that with our local kids!

 Dates for this year are:

  •  Feb 19 and 21 at Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center
  •  Feb 25, 26 & 27 at Cardinal Village in Aspendell

The program runs from 9:00am – 1:00pm each day. You can volunteer for one day or multiple days, anything helps! Breakfast is provided for volunteers.

Interested in learning more or putting your name on the list as a potential volunteer group leader? Please email [email protected] for more details. Thank you for helping our local kids get out into the mountains!

(Eastern Sierra SnowSchool is offered by Sierra Forever in partnership with Winter Wildlands Alliance, Friends of the Inyo, and local School Districts.)
