Movie Review: Oppenheimer
The biggest movie of the summer has finally arrived. The new film by director Christopher Nolan is here to make a huge impact on moviegoers, and this film does not disappoint. Keeping you on the edge of your seat from the very opening frame, you’ll be talking about Oppenheimer for days after viewing it.
During World War II, Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves Jr. appoints physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer and a team of scientists spend years developing and designing the atomic bomb. Their work comes to fruition on July 16, 1945, as they witness the world’s first nuclear explosion, forever changing the course of history.
The visuals in this film are top notch. Everything from the set design, wardrobe, even the practical effects are amazing to look at.
With such a star studded cast, everyone does their role to perfection. The breakout star of the whole film is Cillian Murphy. He single-handedly steals every scene he is in.
The movie is a very dark subject, but an important moment in history that any history or film buff can appreciate. Oppenheimer is rated R for graphic language, sexually explicit scenes, and war-related imagery.
