Movie Review: Jungle Cruise
Watch out for Hippos!
Jungle Cruise joins list of films whose genesis lies in the heart of Disneyland and manages to inject us with a good dose of adrenaline on screen. Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) enlists the aid of wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) to take her down the Amazon in his ramshackle boat. Together, they search for an ancient tree that holds the power to heal – a discovery that will change the future of medicine.
The film will no doubt be a blast of nostalgia for anyone who loves the original theme park ride as the film captures the feel that made the ride so fun. What could be described as an Indiana Jones of this generation, Jungle Cruise is guaranteed to be an enjoyable thrill ride the whole family will enjoy.
Jungle cruise is rated PG-13 for sequences of adventure violence.
