Inyo County HHS, Public Health & Prevention Hosts Trunk or Treat & Draws Over 700 Participants

BISHOP, CA – October 30, 2026 – Inyo County Health & Human Services (HHS) celebrated another successful Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 29, bringing together an estimated 700 community members for an evening of Halloween festivities, creativity, and community connection. Hosted by the HHS Public Health & Prevention Division, this year’s event featured 33 participating organizations and festively decorated trunks and activity spaces, offering local children and families a fun, welcoming environment to celebrate Halloween. Participants brought their creativity to life with themed decorations, games, treats, and interactive activities.

Local agencies, businesses, and community organizations joined forces to make the evening memorable. Families enjoyed visiting creatively decorated booths, exploring emergency vehicles, participating in games, and capturing memories at a photo booth generously donated by Bishop Real Estate. Mr. C’s Hot Dogs also helped keep attendees fed throughout the evening. Inyo County Supervisors Scott Marcellin and Trina Orrill joined the festivities, helping staff the Inyo County Administration booth. Their booth featured two Halloween-themed hay bale bowling lanes, donated by Supervisor Jennifer Roeser, where children had the opportunity to knock down pins and win treats. While the evening was filled with costumes and candy, the event represented something bigger: the importance of connection and collaboration in building a healthy, resilient community.

“Public Health and Prevention is about more than providing services. It’s about bringing people together, building relationships, and creating opportunities for our community to thrive. Events like this remind us that connection, belonging, and simply having fun together are important parts of community well-being. Seeing 33 organizations come together to create such a special evening for local families is exactly what Public Health & Prevention is all about!”, says HHS Deputy Director of Public Health & Prevention, Stephanie Tanksley.
HHS and the Public Health & Prevention Division extends its sincere appreciation to all 33 participating organizations, community partners, volunteers, and HHS staff whose contributions made the event possible.

Through initiatives like LIFE Night, Inyo County HHS continues its commitment to strengthening resilience and well-being by fostering meaningful community connections, supporting families, and creating opportunities for residents to engage with local programs, services, and one another. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Trunk or Treat a tremendous success!
