Happy Holidays from Mono County,
Winter weather is arriving just in time to make Mono County’s festive decorations and twinkling lights glow against a stunning backdrop of fresh snow.
According to the National Weather Service storms are probable from late Tuesday through Christmas Day and are expected to be colder with good snow potential, setting the stage for a truly magical holiday season.

June Mountain opens tomorrow (December 20) with a banner breakthrough, toast to the season and fun family events like Bucky’s Saturday Bonfire. June Mountain is California’s Family Mountain with uncrowded slopes, beginner friendly terrain and breathtaking views. Kids 12 and under even ski free!

New Business Alert
Sweetwater Heli launches as California’s only heli-skiing operation is moving into Bridgeport, CA.
Small group tours begin January 30, 2026 where skiers and riders will have access to over 180,000 acres of new terrain in the Sweetwater Mountains.

Winter Fishing Season
Winter fishing runs through April 15, with several bodies of water open for catch-and-release (barbless artificial flies and lures only).

United Airlines offers winter flights daily, December through April, from Denver and San Francisco to the Eastern Sierra Regional Airport (BIH) in Bishop, just 45 minutes south of Mammoth Lakes.
Winter service on Advanced Airlines from Hawthorne-LA and Carlsbad to Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) runs four days a week through April 27.
