Mono County Launches Community Support Grant Programs

Funding Available to Support Community Events, Arts, and History

MONO COUNTY, CA (September 18, 2026) — Mono County, through its Economic Development, Tourism, and Film Commission (EDTFC), has opened applications for three Community Support Grant Programs. The grants provide funding to established nonprofit organizations in Mono County for eligible projects, programs and events.

The programs are funded through the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget adopted by the Mono County Board of Supervisors. Together, they provide $64,000 in available funding to support projects that strengthen Mono County communities, expand arts and cultural opportunities, preserve local heritage, and contribute to the region’s visitor economy.

The Community Event Marketing Fund (CEMF) provides $25,000 in total funding with up to $5,000 available per event, to help established nonprofits promote tourism-based community events to audiences outside of the Eastern Sierra. The program aims to increase visitation and overnight stays and generate economic benefit for the region, with priority given to events held during the less busy “shoulder” seasons..

The Historical Societies Grant Program (HSGP) provides $14,000 in total funding with up to $4,000 available per organization, for eligible projects and programs of established nonprofit historical societies and museums. Mono County’s museums and historical societies help preserve and share Mono County’s  heritage while providing cultural and sightseeing opportunities for residents and visitors.

The Performing & Visual Arts Grant Program (PVAG) provides $25,000 in total funding for eligible projects and programs of established nonprofit performing and visual arts organizations. These organizations contribute to the visitor experience while providing quality arts and cultural programs that enhance the quality of life for local residents.
