MOUNTAIN LIVING TOGETHER! UPDATE FROM HALEY FITZPATRICK:
Thank you to all those who joined a few weeks ago with Mammoth Voices to hear about Mountain Living Together!
Your interest and enthusiasm are much appreciated. We are so excited by the positive energy.
We learned that the weekend of January 8th-9th is quite busy in Town and some folks may not be able to attend. So, we will adjust the January event to be a softer introductory “meet and greet” to build some connections with you all, with the idea that a more in-depth workshop will be held later in the spring. We are looking forward to also aligning with some other events happening around this time with the Valentine Eastern Sierra Reserves and Mammoth Voices.
Likewise, some of you expressed interest in suggestions on how to prepare for the events/workshops. Although no preparation is required, here are some tips for those interested. One idea is to start to make a list of experiences or stories happening within the Eastern Sierra. The following questions can help spark some inspiration:
…changes or trends that are happening that affect your community?
…initiatives or projects that are positive success stories?
…major tensions or challenges facing your community?
…values that are important to your community?
…places that are important to your community?
…visions for the future?
For those interested in more learning material, you can find a list of videos, quick website links, or longer readings (books and articles) that can help provide an introduction to regenerative design, systems-thinking, circular economies, etc.
