Brown Pow

After a week of staring up at the skies and praying for rain, the heavens finally decided to open up Sunday afternoon giving the bike park a proper hosing of water. Since then, each day has provided everything from a quick sprinkle to another solid rain event. All this moisture means our soil conditions are as good as they get. Tacky and fast, a radical departure from our normal riding surface, this brown pow rips! Forecasts are showing the possibility of T-Storms through next week so let’s hope this pattern sticks around for a bit.

Trail crew and bike patrol started the week addressing erosion issues from Sunday’s deluge and came to find that other than a few exceptions, the trails made it through unscathed. After some touch ups on Chain Smoke and Velocity, they turned their force to Brake Through and fixed several of the stickier points on the trail. Look for maintenance to continue on Brake Through as we get this heavily utilized trail dialed. Other trails receiving love this week were Downtown (which is riding so good), Jill’s Jumps (new transitions), Lincoln Express, Velocity, Boomerang (berm work) and the Discovery Zone.

Need a little TLC for your whip while in town? The Gear-Up is the place to go, accepting walk-ups and featuring all of the technical expertise you could ever desire. Located on the 2nd floor at the Mountain Center.
