Mammoth Lakes Town SignThe Parcel Phase 1 Affordable Housing Groundbreaking Ceremony

The community is cordially invited to celebrate Mammoth’s newest affordable housing community on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 3:00pm.  The groundbreaking ceremony hosted by the Town of Mammoth Lakes and The Pacific Companies will take place at the west end of Tavern Road on The Parcel. On-site parking is limited, additional parking is available at the Town Park & Ride on the corner of Old Mammoth Road and Tavern Road. Join in the celebration of 80 affordable apartments coming summer 2023!

Town Council to participate in the California Housing Accelerator Program

On October 27th Town Council adopted a resolution authorizing the Town’s participation in the California Housing Accelerator Program. On October 5, 2021, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced the availability of $1.6 billion in California Housing Accelerator money for the purposes of supporting shovel-ready projects that are unable to move forward due to funding gaps that resulted from their inability to access tax-exempt bond allocations or low-income housing tax credits. The Parcel is considered a Tier 1 project for this program and is eligible to be in the first group of projects with up to $45Million available through this program.

Mono County Supervisor Redistricting Update to be Presented to Town Council

Representatives from Mono County will provide Town Council with an update on the redistricting process for the five supervisorial districts. The Town of Mammoth Lakes makes up over 50% of County residents. Tune in to the Town Council meeting on November 3 to learn how Town residents may be represented at the County level. Click here for additional information.

Organics and Green Waste Recycling and Managing Forest Biomass

Town Council will receive a presentation on Nov. 3 on work to address state mandated recycling of organic material and options to assist forest biomass as part of the larger strategy to reduce fuel levels from the threat of catastrophic wildfires.

Halloween Festivities 

Join Parks and Rec for a spooky good time at the Mammoth RecZone from 5-8pm today, Friday, October 29. Elementary aged-students will once again enjoy games, prizes, a costume contest, concessions and the not to be missed Husky Club Cakewalk. Admission is only $5 per person (non-skating adults are free) and includes skate rentals while they last. Scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled devices are also welcome. Click here for additional details.

Trick or treat in The Trails Neighborhood beginning at 5:00pm on Sunday, October 31, 2021. Participants are encouraged to wear a costume and follow health guidance for a COVID safe and family-friendly Halloween.

Mammoth OPENS Early for the 2021/22 Season

Mammoth Mountain kicked-off the winter season early today, October 29, 2021. The first-chair banner breakthrough took place at 8:30am, followed by the traditional beer toast at the Main Lodge. Broadway Express (1), Face Lift Express (3), Discovery Chair (11) and the Gondola to the top were operating from 8:30am-4pm. Stump Alley Express (Chair 2) is open Friday-Sunday for parking and access to the mountain only.
