Town Council held a public hearing and approved the amendments to the 2024/25 Parks and Recreation Department Winter Fee Schedule.
Town Council authorized the Town Manager to execute an agreement with the State giving Town authority over the Inyo National Forest Groomed Trail System.
Town Council received the fourth quarter Fiscal Year 2023/24 Budget Report and adopted the resolution amending the Fiscal Year 2023/24 budget.

Little Kings Learn to Play Hockey Program starts Tuesday, October 8 and is now OPEN for registration. Cost is $314 per child and includes six on-ice practices, a graduation, and a complete set of hockey equipment. Tony Colasardo scholarships are available.

Free Wood Chips Available to the Public at Sherwin Creek Trailhead
The Town and partner agencies are making wood chips available FREE OF CHARGE to the public at the Sherwin Creek Trailhead. Wood chips are available free of charge to private parties for personal use ONLY. Commercial operators are requested to contact the Towns Engineering Department at (760) 965-3650 for permission to remove wood chips. Resale of this material is forbidden. Self-load and haul with no limit. Existing logs are the property of the Inyo National Forest and are not available for wood cutting. Logs may be unstable. In the interest of public safety, DO NOT climb or play on log piles! Thank you to Southern California Edison (SCE) and the U.S. Forest Service – Inyo National Forest for their work to enhance recreation amenities in the Eastern Sierra.

National Preparedness Month is observed each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. In Mono County, these disasters could include wildfires, earthquakes, weather-related events, and public health outbreaks. This National Preparedness Month, Mono Countys Office of Emergency Management is encouraging residents and visitors to become prepared by visiting Ready.Mono.ca.gov. In recognition of National Preparedness Month, Mono County residents and visitors are encouraged to visit the Ready Mono portal to Sign Up for Emergency Alerts, Enable Your Smartphone for IPAWS, Find Your Zone, Sign Up for the Access & Functional Needs (AFN) Registry, organize a NeighborFEST and Download preparedness Apps for your smartphone or tablet.
