Inyo County Clerk-Recorder Announces Upcoming Changes to Recording Fees Effective January 1, 2027

Inyo County Clerk-Recorder Announces Upcoming Changes to  Recording Fees Effective January 1, 2027 

Inyo County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters Danielle M. Sexton would like to inform the  public that the Inyo County Clerk-Recorder’s Office will implement adjustments to its  Recordation Fee Schedule beginning January 1, 2027, in accordance with new state legislation  and Inyo County resolutions.

These fee adjustments include:

• Statewide Recording Fee Increases/Changes (AB 2224): The base fee for recording the  first page of documents will increase from $14 to $19, and the fee for each additional  page will rise from $3 to $4. Other related add-on fees, such as non-confirming page size  and printing penalties, will be eliminated, and all recording-related fees will be  dedicated solely to Recorder’s Office operations.
• New Recorder Notification Program Fee (SB 255): A new $7 fee will be applied to each  deed, quitclaim deed, mortgage, or deed of trust recorded. This fee supports the  Recorder Notification Program, which enhances fraud deterrence by notifying property  owners when documents are recorded on their parcel.

These adjustments ensure that the costs of services are borne by those who benefit from  them, supporting modernization, ERDS systems, security, and improved public access while  maintaining compliance with statewide mandates.
