In Memoriam: Julie Wilson

Julie Monica Wilson (Gedvillas), born on July 2, 1952, in Bishop, California, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, in Reno NV surrounded by her loving family.

Julie was a beloved wife, mother, nana, and friend known for her kind heart and warming smile.

Julie spent nearly 20 years of her life working in many capacities in the Bishop School district where her caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone she served and came into contact with.

She also held several part-time jobs including Kmart, Giggle Springs, and Vons, where she made lifelong friends and touched many lives.

Julie in her younger years, enjoyed playing volleyball, track, and softball, showcasing her vibrant spirit and love for competition. She especially enjoyed watching and cheering on all of her grandchildren as they competed competitively.

As she grew older, her passions shifted to sewing, cooking, and traveling, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially her “baby doll” Kaylee!

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Earl Wilson Ill, and their cherished children: Tom (Christy) Stockton, daughter-in-law Michelle, Mandi (Kevin) Latham, Misty (Ovi) Stockton, Jeff (Mary) Van Nest, Chris (Stacey) Van Nest, and Curt (Kelli) Van Nest. Julie’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Brittnie Stockton, Thomas Stockton, Chelsea (Adrian) Stockton, Tristan Stockton, Taylor Latham, Chance Latham, Cora Van Nest, Riley Van Nest, Austin Van Nest, Wade Van Nest, Gracie Van Nest. Dallas Van Nest and Sadie Van Nest along with her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kaylee, and Elijah Santana.

Julie is preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Stanley Gedvillas, brothers and sisters, Ted, Butch, Patricia and Mitzi.

A lover of good 60s music and rock ‘n’ roll, Julie found happiness in the simplest pleasures, from enjoying Ruffles, chocolate, and Diet Pepsi to watching her favorite TV shows, “I Love Lucy” and Yellowstone. Her home was her favorite place in the world, filled with warmth and love.

Julie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will fondly remember her laughter and the love she shared.

Graveside services will be held on November 13th 2024 at 10 am at Pioneer Cemetery in Bishop CA.
