In Memoriam: Gloria Dora Dempsey
Gloria Dora Dempsey (Martinez) was born on March 31, 1945 in Galina, New Mexico. She passed away at her home in Lone Pine, CA on January 6, 2023 at the age of 77.
Gloria was employed as a salesperson for several years until she left to become the primary caretaker and keeper of her youngest son Royce Quintana until her passing. Gloria will be fondly remembered for her willingness to help others and her great sense of humor. Gloria was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. She was also a loving and caring woman. We will miss her every day.
Gloria moved to the Owens Valley in 1986 and immediately fell in love with the mountains and beautiful scenery. She enjoyed digging for crystals with her grandchildren and daughter Candice, as well as exploring the beautiful valley.
She is survived by her sons Frankie Quintana Jr, Steve Quintana, Royce Quintana, and a daughter Candice Grace Quintana. She leaves four siblings, Joe, Sarah, Frances and Mabel. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ashley and Alvin Harrison, Stephanie and Nick Frazier, Justina Quintana, Steven and Cody Quintana-Baker, and Kolton Quintana. Her great grandchildren, Nickolas, Briley and Billy Frazier, Kingston, Aiden and Adrian Harrison, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Becky and Ruby, and Mother.
