Great Sierra River Cleanup Recap

On Saturday, September 20, staff from Eastern Sierra Land Trust, Friends of the Inyo, and 16 incredible volunteers — including local Caltrans staff — teamed up to clean up an area along the Owens River. Together, they removed over 100 pounds of trash and recycling. The most unusual find? A working scientific calculator!
To thank volunteers, prizes were given out, including vouchers for free coffee drinks and scoops of ice cream generously donated by Looney Bean. This cleanup was part of a statewide effort organized by the California Coastal Commission and Sierra Nevada Alliance. Thanks again to the incredible volunteers who came out!
