Remote Community Economic Resiliency Fund CERF Meeting – August 18th at 11:30am

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us August 18, at 11:30 am to 1:00pm to help inform the Eastern Sierra Community Economic Resilience Fund (CERF) process.  CERF is one-time, $600 million regional investment that will guide future State funding opportunities for economic development, workforce training, and infrastructure investments in the Eastern Sierra.

The zoom link is available here:  https://tinyurl.com/bdf7mpwf

The CERF is a statewide program that was created to promote new plans and strategies to diversify local economies and develop sustainable industries that create high-quality, broadly accessible jobs for all Californians. The program is being administered in the Eastern Sierra (Alpine, Inyo and Mono Counties) by the Sierra Business Council,  in partnership with the Eastern Sierra Council of Governments. We would like to begin this conversation with regional partners working on business and workforce development initiatives by inviting you to a focus group session.

This process is an opportunity to advocate for your organization’s mission and needs to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Office of Planning and Research and  Employment Development Department.

Information we are looking for includes:

  • How is your organization engaged with economic development, workforce training and business development in the Eastern Sierra?
  • Who is historically engaged with economic development, workforce training and business development in the Eastern Sierra?
  • What are the economic strengths of the Eastern Sierra region? What are the opportunities?
  • What are the economic weaknesses of the Eastern Sierra region? What are the threats?
  • What programs and projects are you working on. Who are your partners?
  • What is your vision of regional prosperity and resources are needed to achieve it?
  • How can the CERF opportunity support your organization efforts?

Please feel welcome to reach out to me or our Sierra Business Council Eastside CERF Navigator, Magnolia Barra [email protected] with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
