Broncos improve to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in High Desert League play with a 73-6 win over California City

The Bishop Broncos improve to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in High Desert League play with a 73-6 win over California City. The Rick Beall led defense dominated throughout the evening. Linebackers Cain Omohundro and Kennedy Batchelder had strong games. Batchelder had 6 total tackles and forced a fumble. Omohundro had 4 total tackles including 3 tackles for loss. Freshman Milton Michel had an interception with Luis Cruz and Kaelan Smith adding quarterback sacks. Offensively the Broncos were led by Jakob Redmond and Zach Mojarro. Mojo rushed for 174 yards on just 8 carries. Zach added 4 more touchdowns giving him 19 on the season. Redmond rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns while passing for 91 yards and two more scores. Colt Matteson and Jake Frigerio caught touchdown passes. Sophomore Kaleb Brooks added two second half touchdown runs. Next up for the Broncos is a home game with Desert.

In honor of Cancer Awareness month, the Bronco captains have pledged to contribute $5 per offensive touchdown, along with $5 for each defensive quarterback sack and interception. With their play Friday the Broncos are up to $70 to be donated to the Eastern Sierra Cancer Alliance.
