Bishop Broncos Varsity Girls Soccer Defeat Mammoth 1-0

bishop broncos soccer

Bishop Broncos girls’ varsity soccer team hosted the Mammoth Huskies on Thursday, December 19 at 3 o’clock at the John Schwab field. The game was a nail-biter. The first half ended with no goals by either team.

In the first five minutes of the second half Brooke Taylor sent across from the right side of the field as Ellie Crall attacked the net tying up the defender. As the ball crossed, it deflected it off a Mammoth Huskies defender and into the goal.

One other time the ball found the back of the Huskies net, however offsides was called disallowing the goal.

The game ended with a 1-0 win for the Bishop Broncos.

Coach Bill Dailey reports he is proud of how hard the girls worked specially considering the number of injuries and illness going throughout the team.

The player of the game is keeper Riley Van Nest.

Big shout out to defenseman Jessica Santana and the entire defense.
