Mammoth Lakes Summer Road Maintenance Project Update
The Town-wide Slurry Seal Project concluded last week with lane striping completed on Friday. This project successfully sealed 200,000 plus square feet of roadway. This treatment is an important step in maintaining our roads, particularly our high use arterials, as they experience heavy wear-and-tear from both our busy daily traffic and demanding snow removal operations.
The Road and Multi-Use Path (MUP) Rehabilitation Project includes the pulverization and repaving of roads and MUP’s throughout Town. The Contractor began utility work last week along with full pulverization and grading work. The Contractor has made significant progress in preparing Kelly Road, Silver Tip Lane, and portions of Monterey Pine Road and Majestic Pines Drive for paving.
Construction schedules have highly variable factors, such as material availability, and are subject to change, however, we expect the Contractor to continue working in the same neighborhood for 1-2 weeks before moving onto reconstructing the MUPs.
Motorists can expect delays and/or detours as this work continues through August.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding while we work on these critical road and MUP improvements.
