The Buhs Girl’s Tennis Team hosted Kern Valley on Wed.
Final score Bishop 6 KV 3
As usual the Broncos made it exciting with 3 tie-breaks. The Broncos won 2 out of the 3.
First year team members Azul Aranzubia and Lila Santana were one of the teams to win their tie-break . They lost the first set 6-7 (5-7) won their second set 6-1 and then won the ten point tie-break 10-3 to get the 5th point of the match for the Broncos sealing the win.
Kinlei Romero went to a tie-break playing #1 singles with score of 3-6 6-3 just losing her 10-point tie-break 9-11.
Avery McGraw also won her tie-break with scores of 6-2 3-6 and 10-7
In Doubles Kinlei Romero and Avery McGraw teamed up to win another point against the #1 doubles 6-4 6-2. Amelia Winter 6-0 6-0 and Harshvi Raulji 6-0 6-2.
Xitlaly Solorio played #2 singles . Her scores 4-6 4-6
In doubles Xochiltl Lopez and Leah Morrison lost 2-6 their first set but battled in the second set to 5-7.
“It’s a great start to the season” said Coach Cummings. “We were missing two of our returners who were out sick but all the girls this year have been practicing hard so all 14 on the roster can fill in and step up to play when needed. Everyone on both teams showed great sportsmanship.”
Next the Broncos travel to Edwards Air Force Base on Thursday Oct 2nd to take on the Desert Scorpions.
