June 9, 2026 Board Meeting Highlights
- Adoption of FY 26-27 SB1 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) Project List: The Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution designating SB1 / RMRA projects for fiscal year 26-27. These projects include:
- Bridgeport and Lee Vining Streets Pavement Preservation Project
- June Lake and Long Valley Streets Pavement Preservation Project
- Resolution Declaring Housing Development as a Permitted Use under the Public and Quasi-Public Facilities Land Use Designation: The Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution declaring the development of housing as an outright permitted use under the Public and Quasi-Public Land Use Designation as an “other use permitted by the public landowner” to facilitate the efficient development of new housing units without further discretionary land use entitlement processes.
- Adjournment in Memory of Louis “Lou” Roeser: The Board of Supervisors adjourned their meeting in memory of Louis “Lou” Roeser to honor his extensive involvement and contributions to the County, including his dedicated service on the Mono County Grand Jury, his leadership as Co-Chairman of the Mono County Tourism Committee, and his lifelong commitment to the region’s western heritage through his operation of several local packing and recreational businesses.

We know that regularly scheduled daytime Board meetings can be difficult to attend due to work, family, or other commitments. This evening meeting is the perfect opportunity for residents, especially those in our North County communities, to:
- Engage directly with your Supervisors in a local setting.
- Voice your thoughts on the local issues that matter most to you.
- Stay informed and see your County government in action.

Notice of State Holiday Closures on June 19: Please note that all Mono County offices will be closed on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth, a state-mandated holiday. Regular business hours and County services will resume as scheduled on the following business day.
Mono County Wood Waste Gate Fee Waiver Program: Ready to clear your defensible space for fire protection? Mono County is waiving gate fees at landfills and transfer stations for a load of clean wood waste (up to 580 lbs/1 cubic yard) or flammable organics per coupon!
The Rules:
- Coupons Required: Pick up your waiver coupons from your local fire department and write your street address and town on them.
- Clean Loads Only: Applies only to segregated tree limbs, shrubs, brush, and flammable organics. Mixed loads containing household trash or construction waste will not be accepted.
- Residential Only: No contractors, dump trucks, or commercial vehicles allowed.
- Bonus: Free wood chips are available at the landfill for any residents who want them!
