Avalanche Awareness January 6!

Hello ~
Winter has really gotten started and our daily avalanche advisories have begun! It’s been a busy holiday season. We hope to see you at some of our upcoming events this winter – avalanche awareness evenings, bingo, and the Arc’Teryx Academy. Or maybe out on the skin track somewhere.

ESAC wants to issue a BIG thank you to everyone who submits avalanche and snowpack observations! Now that we have some snow on the ground, please send in information and photos from your tour (or even from a drive). Given the vast nature of the Eastern Sierra, we appreciate all the data points that are available.
Mammoth Mountaineering Supply and Sage to Summit are graciously offering a $5 gift card for each quality observation submitted through the website – thank you to these businesses for their support!

ESAC’s forecasts, weather data, and observations can now also be found on the AvyApp, where you can view streamlined, up-to-date avalanche and weather forecasts for your selected zone, use offline caching, and submit observations on the go.
The app provides a centralized location for your core trip planning tools: the avalanche forecast, weather forecast, weather stations, and zone-specific observations, all from various avalanche centers across the US.
