FIREFIGHTER STAIR CLIMB TO HONOR FALLEN SERVICE MEMBERS, MOVED TO 5:00 PM, SEPT. 11TH
BREAKING NEWS – FIREFIGHTER STAIR CLIMB MOVED TO 5:00 PM
The Bishop Volunteer Fire Department’s 9/11 Stair Climb event has been reschedule to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Originally set for 7:00 a.m., the larger than expected turnout will now interfere with the on-going Rodeo at the fairgrounds.
The fundraising event for the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation will ask participants to run the stairs at the fairground’s grandstand, equal to the 110 flights of stairs that were in the World Trade Center Towers. Participants will carry the name of a FDNY firefighter that lost their life in the tragedy.
Registration begins at 5:00 p.m., Remembrance Ceremony at 6:00 p.m., and climb begins after. Water will be provided. Registration donation is $30 and includes a commemorative T-Shirt.
