Bishop Broncos Varsity Football Defeat Cal City 43-10
The Broncos improve to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the High Desert League with a 43-10 win at California City Friday night. Next up for the Broncos is a trip to Edwards Air Force Base for a HDL matchup with the Desert Scorpions. Friday night the Broncos had 1st half rushing touchdowns from Elliott Douda and Eathan Navarrete along with a 40 yard touchdown pass from Emory Dondero to Carlos Sualez opening up a 22-3 halftime lead. In the second half Emory Dondero connected with his brother, Dom Dondero for a 12 yard touchdown and Navarrete scored his second rushing touchdown of the night pushing the Bronco lead to 36-3. Following a Raven touchdown, Carlos Sualez returned the ensuing kickoff for a 88 yard touchdown moving the score to 43-10. Defensively the Broncos picked off three passes. Douda, Milton Michel and Elijah Reynolds all recording interceptions. Defensive standouts include Malachi Orrick who recorded 4 solo tackles including a tackle for loss, Orrick forced a fumble and had 2 QB hurries. Nik Calderon made 5 tackles and recovered a fumble. Dom Dondero had 5 tackles and Layton Henry Rossi had a QB sack. Complete stats are attached.
