...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 4 PM PST SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow...except rain or a mix of rain and snow below
7500 feet through Thursday. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 16
inches, except 3 to 7 feet above 7000 feet along and west of
Highway 395. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph, except over
100 mph along the Sierra crest.
* WHERE...Mono County.
* WHEN...From 4 PM Wednesday to 4 PM PST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible at
times with areas of strong winds and blowing snow along the
395 corridor. Strong winds could cause tree damage. There may
be a break in heavier snow late Friday night and Saturday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Snow levels will drop to all elevations by
late Thursday into Friday morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Avoid travel if possible, you could be stuck in your vehicle for
many hours. If you must travel, prepare for long delays and carry
an emergency kit with extra food, water and clothing. If you stay
home, have a backup plan in case of power outages.
