UC White Mountain Research Center Launching 75th Anniversary Campaign & Events
On Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024, UC White Mountain Research Center (WMRC) will be launching its 75th Anniversary fundraising campaign and celebration. In honor of 75 years of UC lead operation, WMRC will be offering a myriad of community events including a bolstered annual lecture series, fieldtrips, Barcroft Station Open Gate Day, and a Community BBQ with art auction. For more details visit www.wmrc.edu or email [email protected].
The WMRC is a multi-disciplinary, system-wide, research unit of the University of California Natural Reserve System and is currently managed by UCLA. It was established in 1950 by UC Berkeley physiologist Nello Pace and serves as a laboratory for interdisciplinary research and site for college level courses. Located in eastern California, the Center is now comprised of four separate sites in the White Mountains and Bishop locales: including some of the highest altitude research laboratories in North America.
