Strong Winter Storm Incoming for the Eastern Sierra

The National Weather Service has issued the following Winter Storm Warning for the Eastern Sierra starting this evening to 9am Wednesday, 10/15 and a Freeze Warning in effect from 11pm this evening to 9am Wednesday.
- Rain and snow expected.
- Periods of heavy snow and strong winds up to 50 mph for the Eastern Sierra.
- Roads, bridges, and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.
- Consider delaying travel if possible. If travel is necessary, use extreme caution.
What to do during a Power Outage? Be prepared:
- Report outages by calling 1-800-992-8331 (Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and (833) 325-2397 after hours.
- Subscribe to Inyo County’s new Genasys Protect™ enhanced alert system at ready.inyocounty.us.
- Remember that our first priority is safety. Our crews and first responders must ensure conditions are safe before beginning any power restoration work.
- Stay Informed: Listen to radio and television, including NOAA Weather Radio if possible, and check trusted internet and social media sources.
